Steeped in Color: An Indigo Dyeing Afternoon with Tea & Cake
Unwind with a Cup of Tea & a Splash of Indigo: Join Our Unique Afternoon Workshop outside of Georgetown SC.
Only 6 participants per session. April 4th, 6th, or 27th. 2:00pm to 5:30pm. Or the 25th, from 3pm to 6:30pm.
This is truly a lovely and unique experience! You'll get to spend 3.5 hours at this perfect space for those that want to explore the Lowcountry, learning about the rich history of indigo in South Carolina. Indigo was a significant crop in the state's colonial past, and it's fascinating to learn about its impact on the region.
During the workshop, you'll get hands-on experience creating your own indigo vat and using it to dye a set of cotton/linen napkins and a beautiful silk scarf. It's a great opportunity to learn a new skill and take home some lovely, handmade items.
The hummingbird cake (I will also make a gluten free one if needed) and tea will be a lovely touch, adding to the relaxing and creative atmosphere of the experience.
We also offer a 1-night stay option in one of our bedrooms, available for $150 for the room. The rooms feature a queen-size bed, giving you the flexibility to relax in and prepare your own meals or head out to explore the town. Please email us if you are interested.
